About the game
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 begins in a world where the Paintress marks a number each year and people of that age disappear. The members of Expedition 33 set out to stop the cycle before the next number is painted. Their journey moves through a surreal landscape inspired by Belle Époque France, mixing an urgent mission with the personal stories of the people willing to attempt it.
Battles combine turn-based decisions with real-time input. Party members bring different abilities and can work together through carefully chosen actions, while dodges, parries and timed attacks keep the player involved during an enemy's turn. Exploration reveals new places, equipment and information about the world. The game's visual identity and music support a story about loss, hope and the cost of confronting a seemingly fixed fate.
