About the game
League of Legends is a team strategy game in which five players choose champions and work to destroy the opposing Nexus. A match on Summoner's Rift begins with lanes, jungle camps and small exchanges for gold and experience. Over time, towers fall, objectives become more valuable and a single coordinated team fight can change control of the map. Champions fill different roles, but their value depends on timing, positioning and how their abilities work with the rest of the team.
Gold buys items that reshape a champion's strengths during the match. Teams contest dragons, Baron Nashor and vision around the river while deciding whether to group, defend or pressure a side lane. League also offers modes with different pacing, including ARAM, where the action is concentrated in one lane. New matches start fresh, making champion choices and moment-to-moment decisions more important than any persistent equipment advantage.
