About the game
Onimusha: Way of the Sword follows Miyamoto Musashi through an Edo-period Kyoto twisted by supernatural malice. Armed with an Oni Gauntlet, the samurai confronts the Genma and searches for a reason to keep fighting. Historic streets and dark fantasy imagery meet in a story centered on his encounters with the creatures invading the city.
Swordplay sits at the heart of the action. Battles ask you to read an opponent, choose when to press forward and use the gauntlet's power against enemies that differ in size and behavior. The journey moves through dangerous locations filled with mystery as well as combat, giving each new stretch of Kyoto a sense of discovery. Its focus stays on Musashi's path rather than a broad cast of interchangeable heroes.
